This Week’s Secret To Success
The “Sharing Strategy” is what makes this week’s family meals work so well!
- Both meals use chicken as the protein. You know what that means!
- This makes shopping a lot more doable.
- Buy a bulk package of boneless skinless chicken breasts to save a few bucks and have enough protein for both meals.
- Also, brussels sprouts, broccoli and sweet potatoes are in season this month, so they will be easy to find & should cost a little less than usual. Of course, if you’ve got a local farmer’s market that’s active in the winter, pick them up there!
Swaps For Your Family
- Not sure if your family will go for the Broccoli Slaw with Shredded Brussel Sprouts? Swap it out for a traditional, easy-to-make Southern Creamy Cole Slaw or Crispy Apple Slaw.
- Get a little adventurous and swap those sweet potato wedges with Parmesan Carrot Fries. (Carrots are in season too!)
- Not feeling chicken for every meal this week? Make sliders with this BBQ Pot Roast instead. It’s a slow cooker recipe, making your week super easy!

Getting The Most From This Menu
- Shred any leftover chicken thighs and serve them over the slaw (or any green salad) for a yummy lunch the next day.
- Cooking for 3 or less this week? Skip the sweet potato wedges and dipping sauce and serve leftover slaw and hash brown casserole with both meals.
- Have leftover snack crackers? They make great croutons for any salad and are delish when used to top soup!
- Any of these dinner, snack or dessert recipes (or combo of recipes) are great to bring to a Super Bowl Party. Use one menu for a weeknight meal, then use the other as your football party inspo!
