Sweet, salty and velvety rich, this easy whipped feta dip with cream cheese, honey, garlic and a little spicy kick from cracked pepper is perfect for parties, weekends or any time you want to share a moment and bite with someone! Dip it with soft, warm pita bread or crisp, whole grain crackers. This is special food that you’ll love to enjoy.
This is such a simple recipe, but one with big rewards. A quick chop of chives, a minute or less in the food processor and you have a gorgeous dish that tastes every bit as delicious as it looks. A little rustic, a little sophisticated, there is nothing quite like soft, rich cheese and sweet honey, especially when it’s meant to be shared!
What You Need To Make Whipped Feta with Honey
- Feta crumbles
- cream cheese
- minced garlic
- dried basil
- olive oil
- honey
- chopped pistachios
- coarse black pepper
- chives
The Engineer and I love dishes like this when we want to take meal time up a notch or two, but we don’t want to go out. A little bowl of whipped feta and honey is ideal for nibbling while we unwind and catch up on each other’s day. Followed up with a little pan-seared steak and broccoli slaw with apples and brussel sprouts and we’re talking a perfect evening that’s special without being fussy.
But it doesn’t stop there. This whipped feta dip is the perfect before dinner bite when we have friends over. It hits the spot on game day, when the girls come over or just anytime when appetizers or slowing down and sharing is on the menu!
Can this dip be made ahead of time?
- The cheeses, garlic and basil can be whipped together and even plated up to one day ahead of time. Just cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until you are ready to use. Add honey and garnishes when you are ready to serve.
Can Feta & Honey be stored after it’s been served?
- There usually isn’t any left over around here. But if you happen to have some you would like to save after serving, it should at least keep for one day if wrapped with plastic wrap and kept in the fridge.

Hi, Cynthia! I am just thrilled that you loved this recipe! It’s a little different, but SO delicious and SO special. Just an honor to share it with you!
This looks amazing! I’m not a fan of pistachios. Do you feel like another but would sub well? Almonds/walnuts/pecans??
Hi, Stephanie! I think almonds would work wonderfully. Let me know what you think!
a friend served this to a small group of us and we all loved it. Devoured it actually. After our first bite we all asked for the recipe. This will be one I always bring to any gathering. Perfect combo of taste and textures. Excellent.
Thank you so much, Suz! I’m just tickled to hear this! We felt the same way when we first tried it at a restaurant in Nashville. I couldn’t wait to get home and try my hand at making it. It was an instant favorite!
This was delicious!
LOVE that you loved it!
This is literally the best dip I have ever had! Definitely a crowd-pleaser, everyone raves about it!
Oh my gosh, Katie! Thanks so much! I think it’s the honey, do you?
Absolutely addictive!
Hi, Grace! For ME TOO!
This is now my go-to appetizer. It’s quick and easy to put together and a perfect addition to our Charcuterie Sundays! I serve it with a quick, homemade naan bread brushed with garlic butter. Perfection!
Oh, I LOVE the idea of Charcuterie Sundays! Delish! I am so glad you’ve included this whipped feta into your meal. You’ve made my day!
Made to bring to a backyard bbq. Everyone loved it. Great dip for even the pickiest person to cook ok for. Absolutely a repeat recipe.
Hi, Pat!

This looks so good! What a unique and delicious dip to bring for an appetizer!
Thanks, Suzanne!
This dish always comes home empty! (my favorite thing!)
Thanks for sharing! Does it keep long?
Hi, Vanessa!
It usually keeps for at least 1 round of leftovers. But after that, the water content in the ingredients usually starts to separate. If you plan to eat it at more than one sitting, consider adding the honey as you go. It will store better without the honey added.
I made this last night for a backyard BBQ and my family LOVED it! So easy and delicious! Thank you!!!
Hi, Angie!

Love this recipe. Feta, honey and bread. What’s not to love. I have also had Ricotta, honey and bread as an appetizer – – equally as amazing and super easy to put together. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Hi, Beth! I feel the same! I bet Ricotta is a yummy substitute. Sounds divine!
Sounds delicious 🙂 I have goat cheese on hand- would that be a suitable substitute for the feta?
Hi, Suzanne! Yes, love some delicious goat cheese. Not quite as salty as feta, but still would work perfectly!
Everyone wanted the recipe. Absolutely delicious and it looked so pretty! Thank you!
