This easy White Ravioli Casserole recipe is full of shortcuts! My group loves ravioli. There’s just something about those scrumptious stuffed little pasta pillows they find completely irresistible. And while we usually eat them bathed in a marinara, there are those occasions where I like to mix it up and have a little white sauce. When I do, this is my go-to dish- Easy White Ravioli Casserole!
Why We Love This Easy Recipe
Part lasagna, part pasta bake, this easy dish loaded with comfort food goodness. Gooey melted cheese, al dente pasta, sausage- this is a meal that just says home! But it doesn’t take all day to make! I forego homemade alfredo sauce for a jarred version (they are just so good these days!) for this dish and use frozen ravioli and pre-cooked sausage crumbles. Sometimes good food is right at our fingertips; we just have to put it together!
I made this quick dish for some friends we had over the other night, and they loved it. It’s because of them that I’m sharing the recipe! There’s nothing better than spending time over a good meal, laughing, sharing memories and making plans to get together again. And if an easy, little shortcut recipe can help us do that, I’ll share again and again.

How to Make White Ravioli Casserole
This recipe is so easy and comes together in just 2 steps! Since all of the ingredients are premade, there is no prep except for washing and trimming the spinach.
Layer the casserole. Cover the bottom of a 9×13 dish with a thin layer of alfredo sauce and a single layer of ravioli. Layer ½ of the spinach and sausage on top. Cover with alfredo sauce and cracked black pepper.
Repeat another layer of ravioli, the rest of the spinach and sausage and more sauce. Finish with a 3rd layer of ravioli. Cover with the last of the sauce. Top with cheese and more cracked black pepper.
Bake. Bake 30-35 minutes until edges are browned and bubbling.
Can I Make This Ravioli Casserole in My Slow Cooker?
- Yes, you can! Just layer it up in your slow cooker and cook on low for 3-4 hours.
Can I Freeze This Casserole & Thaw It Out Later?
- Absolutely! You can make this casserole in advance (so helpful if you’re expecting house guests) and freeze it until you are ready to bake it. OR- you can simply freeze the leftovers to enjoy another day. Either way, just let the glass dish you froze it in come to room temperature before baking or reheating!
Can I Make This Dish Using My Favorite Red Sauce Instead of Alfredo?
- 100% yes! Just follow the instructions using your favorite Italian sauce- whatever that may be! You can also use browned ground beef or shredded chicken instead of sausage. Just think of all the ways you can enjoy this dish!

I have this in the oven right now. Super easy! I hope I wasn’t suppose to thaw the ravioli 🤞🏼
Hi, Jen! How awesome! I love how easy this casserole is, don’t you? No, the ravioli shouldn’t be thawed. It cooks in the sauces while the casserole bakes. YUM!
I have this in the oven now. I cooked the ravioli and browned some Italian sausage. Smells very good 😊
Hi, Dawn! I’m just tickled that you decided to make this. Can’t wait to hear how you enjoyed it!
This is now a family favorite! The prep is so easy, and the tastes are incredible. My husband loves anything with Alfredo in it, and the spinach makes it a healthier option. I used Jimmy Dean sausage crumbles with sausage and bacon and it gave it a nice flavor. Thank you for sharing htis recipe!
Hi, Stacy!
You’ve made my day! I love the idea of the sausage and bacon together. I know that had to be so good! Thank you so much for sharing about this easy recipe!
Do you recommend any other veggies i could hide or sneak in here? I am going to try this with beyond sausage and I was thinking of trying to throw in some frozen peas or broccoli as an extra green…
Hi, Val! What a great idea! Broccoli or zucchini would surely work. If you didn’t mind the veggie not being green, you could try yellow squash and/or carrots. Then, there are mushrooms and tomatoes that fall outside the veggie category, but would make great additions!
This is so good and easy. I used frozen green peas instead of the spinach. Great side dish.
Hi, Mark! What a great idea! Thanks for sharing it; I know it will inspire others. I am so glad loved this recipe!
I just made this!!! I just went by the video (didn’t realize there was a website lol) so I winged it by the amount and it was delicious. Only thing, I would add more Alfredo sauce! ( we like it SAUCY)
Roommate and I love it!!!
Hi, Trish! I am so glad you found the website! Ha! But how awesome that you made it from the video. You definitely deserve extra points for that! I say load it up with sauce- I’m a huge sauce fan too!
I have a bag of shelf stable “dry” ravioli I bought from Aldi a few weeks ago. Do you think they would work with this recipe without cooking or should I boil them first?
Hi, Jenn! I would softly boil them first, but only to just right before they are al dente. So, a little firmer than you would eat.
I have this in the oven right now! I used ingredients I had, so I had to do half. 1 bag of mini cheese ravioli, 1 jar Alfredo sauce, broccoli instead of spinach and I cooked up some bulk sausage I had and used Colby jack cheese instead of mozzarella and a little parmesan. I can’t wait to try it! Thanks for the easy recipe!!
Hi, Tiffany! LOVE it!! This recipe is so adaptable and easy. Sounds perfect! I am glad you made it!
Would you be able to use Chicken Ravioli instead of cheese and then not do any other meat?
Hi, Caitlyn! You sure could! I might add in some other veggies with the spinach to create more of a layer between the pastas– maybe zucchini? mushrooms? Or red bell pepper?
Made this for dinner tonight and was going to half the recipe and so glad I didn’t. Ended up having 3 surprise guests. This was a hit with everyone and just an FYI followed the recipe exactly as written. I will definitely make again. Thank you!!
Hi, Jo! I love it! And the fact you were ready for surprise guests makes it even better! Hospitality at its best. Thank YOU for being amazing!
