The Best Summer Fruit Salad

This is what summer tastes like. Peach Fruit Salad is at the top of my list when it comes to summer entertaining or, honestly, summer eating all the way around.

All of the ingredients can be gathered at the farmer’s market or roadside stands, and hot from the summer sun, they are are tender, juicy and bursting with sweet, precious flavor. There’s nothing like it!

It looks beautiful served on a platter or in a glass trifle bowl and is the absolute star of any cookout, potluck or gathering. But no one need know just how easy it is. Summer did all the work. You just put it in a bowl!

Recipe Ingredients & Overview

Ingredients for a peach salad with blueberries and blackberries with a text overlay to make getting all of the right ingredients easy.

I’ll walk through an overview of ingredients & steps in these next sections along with helpful tips!

Look for specifics at the end of the post in the recipe card.

  • sliced fresh peaches
  • blueberries
  • blackberries
  • chopped walnuts
  • fresh mint
  • honey
  • lime juice

Recipe Add Ins/Substitutions: Instead of walnuts, try chopped pecans, or simply leave out the nuts altogether if you’re not a fan.

In place of fresh mint, try basil! It’s flavor is a delicious complement to peaches, blackberries and walnuts.

Add a little lime zest to the fruit salad dressing to punch of the flavor.

Crumble a little feta cheese across the top for some added wow!

Nectarines are a perfect fit for this salad if you can’t find yellow peaches.

Pitted cherries would be a great addition too!

NOTE: Neither frozen peaches nor frozen berries are recommended for this peach fruit salad recipe.

How to Make This Easy Fruit Salad

Chopped walnuts, sliced peaches, fresh blueberries and blackberries with fresh mint arranged in sections on a platter to show the fruit salad ingredients before tossing the salad with dressing.

Prep the fruit. Wash the fruit and pat it dry. Slice the peaches into thin wedges and the fresh mint into ribbons.

Make the dressing. Whisk together honey and lime juice to create the fruit salad dressing.

Toss. Add all of the fruit salad ingredients to a large bowl or platter. Drizzle the salad dressing over the top, and toss.

Serve. Add a little mint to the top of the salad and serve!

My Best Tips

  • You can peel your peaches, if you like. I don’t peel mine because I like the color it adds to this peach fruit salad. If the peaches are nice and ripe, the skin is thin and tender.
  • To thinly slice my peaches, I insert the blade (not the tip) of my knife in one end of the peach until I hit the peach pit and rock my blade along the pit until I reach the other end of the peach. After cutting several wedges, I gently pull them away from the pit.
  • To julienne the mint, Stack several mint leaves together, roll them up and thinly slice the roll to create nice, thin ribbons of mint. This is a great way to prep and use other leafy herbs too– like basil.

Storing & Making Ahead

This peach fruit salad with last 2-4 days (depending on how ripe your peaches are) stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Toss again before serving leftovers.

Because this salad is made with summer-ripe fruit, it isn’t always the best candidate for making ahead of time. However, if your peaches and berries aren’t too ripe, you can make it the day before, tossing together the fruit and the dressing, only adding in the mint and the walnuts right before serving. The lime in the dressing should keep the peaches from turning brown.
