This Week’s Secret To Success
This is menu planning that really works- concise shopping, 1 recipe to make 2 meals, shared ingredients and options for flexibility.
- We’re using the crock pot this week twice! This means some of your southern favorites can cook nice and slow while you’re at work, at the gym running errands or doing the laundry. Smart is always better than quick & easy!
- We’re using leftovers to create a second meal, not to just have the same meal again. Again, smart.
- Lastly, we’re capitalizing on seasonal flavors/ ingredients to make shopping easy and to make sure we don’t waste a thing we buy. 5 of our recipes use ham and pineapple!
- Check out “Getting The Most From This Menu” for flexible options. We all know the week holds twists and turns, and we need a menu that’s as good at “plan B-ing” it as we are.
Swaps For Your Family
- If you don’t think you’re family will like roasted cabbage, try these sautéed green beans or this Roasted Broccoli recipe.
- Did you make the Green Salad last week? Make the Garden Salad this week!

Getting The Most From This Menu
- Need more dinner ideas (instead of breakfast)? Serve the Quiche with the Green Salad.
- Want to have friends over this week or weekend? The Ham and Pineapple Dip is perfect for that. Serve it with chips, crackers or part of a charcuterie board. You can also serve the Pineapple Trifle with Cinnamon Roll Coffee Creamer for a sweet treat!
How I’m Setting My Table
Tasty & convenient recipes are only half of any dinner equation!
Having a few things that you really love to set the table with is THE KEY to making meal time enjoyable and being able to invite others over stress free.Â

- My favorite seagrass placemats (They also double as great hot pads/ trivets in the kitchen.)
- Scalloped Dinnerware
- French Striped Dinner Napkins
- Rope Pattern Silverware
- I am super excited about this casserole dish set!
- I use this amber stemware all the time.
Monday Menu #331
Menu 1- Crock Pot Dirty Rice
Enjoy all the savory goodness of my #1 classic Louisiana Dirty recipe with the convenience of a slow cooker. Serve it with Roasted Cabbage & Cornbread Muffins!
That’s right! I took my family’s original recipe with ground beef, ground sausage, onion, celery, bell pepper, simple herbs and spices and tweaked the cooking process so now even the busiest weeknights have time for tender Crock Pot Dirty Rice loaded with all the rich Louisiana flavors you love!
Beefy Roasted Cabbage Steaks are tender, roasted slices of cabbage with tempting crispy, caramelized edges and a subtle beefy flavor. They make for a tantalizingly savory vegetable side dish, perfect for almost any meal!
Cheddar Jalapeno Cornbread Muffins are the perfect way to round out almost any meal with a little pizzazz! This easy to follow cornbread recipe has plenty of cheesy goodness, a hint of sweetness & just the right amount of jalapeno kick all baked right into moist tender, buttermilk cornbread.
Menu 2- Stuffed Peppers
Louisiana Dirty Rice was made to be stuffed into a zesty bell pepper and enjoyed! Richly savory, wonderfully aromatic, the seasoned ground beef, spicy sausage, herbs and rice marry perfectly with sweet bell peppers to create a classic comfort meal. Top with Parmesan cheese and serve with a green salad and slow cooker black eyed peas!
A new way to enjoy a Louisiana tradition or just make the most of your dirty rice leftovers!
No time to tend a pot? No problem! This easy, no-soak, crock pot black eyed pea recipe delivers THE BEST Southern Black Eyed Peas & Ham with a deliciously subtle jalapeno kick. Simple, effortless and oh-so tasty. Your vegetable side dish game is about to change!
Sometimes a simple green salad is the only partner you need for your favorite dinner recipe. When that’s the case, top your salad with this simple, 1-minute Creamy Mayo Vinaigrette to create a classic house salad that is sure to become your signature dish!
Dessert This Week
What could be better than scooping up a delicious ray of sunshine? That’s just what you get when serve this dreamy Coconut Pineapple Trifle with it’s layers of crushed pineapple, tender yellow pineapple cake, rich cream cheese pudding filling, all piled high with whipped topping and toasted coconut. Get ready for a little taste of paradise!

Breakfast Made Easy
Perfect for using leftover ham, this Ham & Swiss Quiche has a super common secret ingredient that makes for a creamy, silky quiche every time! Make it for brunch or as a side dish with soup & salad as an easy dinner.

Snack of the Week
Ham & Pineapple Hawaiian Dip is a richly creamy, savory and lightly sweet dip loaded with smoky ham, crushed pineapple, cream cheese, green onions, chopped pecans and a dollop of real mayonnaise.
