What You Need To Make Stuffed Olive Cheese Bread
- loaf of Italian or French bread
- pimento stuffed green olives (like Manzanilla or Queen)
- sliced black olives (like Kalamata or California)
- green onions
- Provolone cheese
- butter
- mayonnaise
- Italian parsley
- lemon juice
- dried oregano, minced garlic
- black pepper & red pepper flakes
How To Make Stuffed Olive Cheese Bread
- Prep the bread. Start by slicing your loaf of Italian or French bread in half. Then open each half by slicing again lengthwise. Hollow out a shallow well the length of each piece of bread. This is important for 2 reasons! (1) You’re going to fill those wells with your cheesy olive filling. The wells are why this bread is called “stuffed.” (2) The wells allow you to really load up your bread with lots of good filling. Without the wells, when the cheese melts, it just runs right off the bread into a puddle on your baking sheet.
- Make the filling. Mix together room temp butter and mayo as the base for your filling. Add in grated cheese, chopped olives and rest of the ingredients. Stir it all together and load up the bread with all that yum!
- Bake. Bake the bread for about 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Let it cool for 5-10 minutes, then slice & serve!
