Plan your week with Monday Menu! Every week, we share 2 family favorite menus, plus dessert, snack and easy breakfast ideas to lighten your load. Never worry about what to make for dinner again!
To say that this week’s menus and meal ideas are some of my favorite is an understatement. #1 Crock pot recipes… yes, thank you, please! #2 Fried fish. Need I say more. The week is complete!
And then, we’ve got Million Dollar Hot Shrimp & Crab Dip- always a reader favorite, Mamaw’s Old Fashioned Apple Cake and Farmhouse Breakfast Casserole. Wow! This week is going to be so good, we might just put it on repeat!
Menu 1- Meat & Potatoes
Deliciously spicy and packed with deep, rich southern flavor, these Peach Glazed Meatballs are addictive little bites that no one will be able to resist! Pile 'em high atop mashed potatoes or rice for an easy main dish that's sure to be on repeat! The easy instructions below include both crock pot and stove top cooking methods.
Everything deserves a touch of special, even regular ol’ everyday mashed potatoes. Yes, mashed potatoes. If you’ve got 30 minutes, you’ve got just what it takes to take any meal from “well…” to “whoa!” this week with these Horseradish Mashed Potatoes loaded with cream cheese and garlic!
Making a light seasonal dish is easy with this deliciously crunchy Broccoli Slaw recipe. Loaded with apples, brussel sprouts, bacon and walnuts and topped with a simple Dijon vinaigrette, this versatile side dish is has what it takes to satisfy at family gatherings, tailgates and potlucks, but also makes for the perfect simple lunch.
Menu 2- Friday Fish Any Day
This bright apple coleslaw with its easy homemade buttermilk dressing is just what you need when looking to bring a little snap to your side dish game! A perfect go-to side dish when apples are in season, this ‘oh, so light and crisp’ slaw is tangy, sweet, and just the thing for a tasty fish meal.
Deliciously creamy peas with savory ham and a subtle jalapeno kick have never been easier than with this simple crock pot recipe! No more tending a pot of peas on the stove all day. Just put the peas on in the morning and enjoy a perfectly prepared homecooked side dish at dinner.
Dessert This Week!
Crisp apples and walnuts are made-for-each-other partners in this simple Old Fashioned Apple Cake recipe. So moist but lightly sweetened, this cake begs to be enjoyed with a cup of coffee, a little vanilla ice cream or even for breakfast!
Here’s What We’re Snacking On
With football season in full swing, it’s also dip season here at The Cottage. And that means hot, easy & melted cheesy! I’m talking Million Dollar Shrimp & Crab Dip. It’s so good you’ll swear you hear waves hit the sand when you take that first warm bite of seafood goodness. This classic baked Louisiana dip is loaded with shrimp, crab, bell pepper, onion, bacon, 4 cheeses and all the right seasoning and spices!
Making Breakfast Easy
Who am I kidding… even though I’ll probably be eating Apple Cake for breakfast this, that won’t keep everyone fueled up and going. Cue the Cheesy Farmhouse Breakfast Casserole! Loaded with hash browns, eggs, sausage, bacon and cheese, it has all the hearty breakfast goodness everyone loves and craves. Plus, it’s easy to throw together and bake the morning of in the oven or overnight in the crock pot while you sleep!
