What Is Louisiana-Style Remoulade Sauce
If you like to dunk, dip or drizzle, then remoulade is definitely your thing! With roots in Europe, remoulade (reh-moo-lahd) made it’s way across the Atlantic a long time ago and found a very welcome home in the coastal south.
RELATED RECIPE: Tasty Homemade Tartar Sauce
In my home state, Louisiana-style remoulade sauce is a creamy, tartar sauce-like sauce made with mayonnaise, whole grain mustard, horseradish, lemon and just the right amount of spices and dried herbs for loads of bright, inviting flavor. It’s just a little tart, just a little spicy and can always be found happily perched on a platter of deep-fried seafood or fish.

How to Make This Homemade Remoulade Sauce Recipe
Gather Ingredients & Mix. This one step recipe is as simple as putting everything in a bowl and whisking until smooth. That’s it!
Serve or Chill. When sufficiently whisked, it can either be served immediately or covered and chilled for at least one hour for extra flavor. This makes remoulade one of those special dinner or party touches that can be made ahead of time.
How to Store. If there is any remoulade leftover (which is almost unheard of), it can be covered and stored in the fridge for at least a week or a week and a half.
Want an extra kick? Add a splash or two of Louisiana Hot Sauce (to suit your taste) or a pinch of cayenne pepper. (The creole seasoning linked in this recipe contains common remoulade ingredients like salt, paprika, cayenne and black peppers already mixed in.)
