This week’s suppers are planned with 2 deliciously cozy fall meals! Plus, we’re embracing all things autumn with a sweet potato dessert and pumpkin fall snack idea to celebrate the season! And don’t forget breakfast. We’ve got that covered too.
What better way to usher in the middle of October than with apples, pumpkins and sweet potatoes! We’ve got ALL the fall flavors and feels with this week’s Monday Menu.
Menu 1 boasts a hearty homemade chili meal with all the cozy fixings, while Menu 2 goes classic with skillet pork chops, cabbage and a cornbread dressing. If your tastebuds are craving some fall, then this week’s meal planning menus are just for you!
Menu 1- Chili Time!
A big bowl of beefy Texas Red Chili always hits the spot! It's hearty, satisfying and surprisingly simple to make. And even though you won't find any beans, you will find loads of Texas-sized flavor!
Who needs plain ol’ croutons when you can top everything with crisp, bite-sized versions of a melty childhood favorite? These clever Grilled Cheese Croutons are the ultimate feel good toppers for soups and salads, but them on a hot bowl of chili, and you've got something special!
I don't always serve a side dish with chili, but when I do this Apple Coleslaw is always at the top of the list, especially when it's apple season! This ‘oh, so light and crisp’ slaw is tangy, sweet, and just the thing you’ve been looking for to easily round out your fall table.
Menu 2- Tastes Like Fall
You won’t believe how easy it is to put these juicy, tender, bone in pork chops on your table! Simple enough for any night of the week, but gorgeous enough for special occasions, these Skillet Pork Chops are cooked to perfection with an irresistible golden sear, then bathed with a flavorful 5 ingredient cream sauce. 15- 20 minutes is all it takes to serve the best pork chops around!
Beefy Roasted Cabbage Steaks are tender, roasted slices of cabbage with tempting crispy, caramelized edges and a subtle beefy flavor. They make for a tantalizingly savory vegetable side dish, perfect for almost any meal!
Loaded with seasoned sausage, green & red apples and plump, tart cranberries, this dressing is moist and full of seasonal flavors. Subtly sweet and richly savory, you may never want to try another cornbread dressing recipe again!
Dessert This Week!
Fall offers some of the best opportunities to get seasonal with your pound cakes. It’s not just about adding toppings but adding something yummy to that classic cake itself. So grab a mixer and a couple of pans. We have a perfectly dense, melt in your mouth sweet potato pound cake to make! And to just take it over the top, we’re going to soak it in a gorgeously spicy cinnamon simple syrup too! There’s just something warmly special about a fall cake.
You are going to love topping your pound cake with this quick and simple cinnamon whipped cream recipe!  Just a few minutes with a mixer and some whipping cream renders billowing pillows of homemade fabulousness that brings that little something special to everything it tops. With rich cinnamon and vanilla flavors, this easy homemade cinnamon whipped cream is definitely going to be what makes your table memorable this year. Delicious on coffee, ciders, even pancakes too!
Here’s What We’re Snacking On
What’s better than a yummy pumpkin fluff ? A Pumpkin Butterscotch Dip born of a fluff recipe but destined to make its home on pretzels, apples, graham crackers and cookies. Deep, rich butterscotch is the perfect fall partner for the flavor of pumpkin and spices, just adding a depth of flavor, a smoothness, that compliments without competing. Once you try this fall dip, you can throw all your other pumpkin dip recipes away! It’s just that good.
Making Breakfast Easy
Even though cake is in the name, there is nothing sweet about it! This breakfast casserole is more like a sausage, egg and cheese pull apart bread and is made using canned biscuits. So, it is easy, easy, easy! Not to mention that it can be paired with a rich green salad if you are thinking supper, fruit if you are thinking brunch or breakfast, and it feeds a crowd. Easy and versatile? What’s not love?
