This Week’s Secret to Success
Sometimes comfort food means some real time in the kitchen, but not all the time. With a crock pot and a few make/prep ahead short cuts, we can serve comfort food with ease and grace. No matter how busy the weeknights are!
- Black Eyed Peas & Ham in the crock pot round out this week’s Sausage Jambalaya meal. Cooking the peas all day in the crock pot while you’re working, running errands or hauling kids to practices and games is a genius way to serve down home goodness without the hassle.
- Jambalaya might sound like it’s a recipe that takes a ton of time, but it’s really quite simple. 40 minutes from start to finish is all it takes for this one pot dish.
- Manicotti is the ideal recipe for prepping ahead. Make just the filling the day before or the pasta and filling. Either way, it makes the dish a breeze to put together the day of. See the post for all the make ahead instructions and options.
- This week, we’ve got pumpkin muffins and pumpkin dip. Buying the large 30 ounce can of pumpkin puree covers both recipes with no waste, saving you a little a the grocery store.
