Pretty Spring Table Ideas

Don’t let getting together with friends and family this spring put pressure on you. A pretty spring table set with just a few hosting and entertaining essentials can carry you seamlessly through showers, teas, Kentucky Derby parties, Mother’s Day- whatever your calendar holds!

A small cafe table with 2 chairs set for a romantic picnic.

Spring time in the south finds azaleas bursting with color, birds in song and green coming up everywhere. Mix in a few soft breezes and warmer temps, and we find ourselves ready to dive back into outdoor dining and hosting.

It’s a good thing too because spring offers plenty of opportunities for getting together! Wedding and baby showers, graduation parties, picnics, Derby days and Mother’s Day quickly fill up our calendars, each begging us to get out the good dishes and fill our homes and yards with family and friends.

Wondering how you’ll do it? A few handy basics like folding tables & chairs, simple, versatile dishes and seasonal table linens that take us all the way through the season is all we need.

We don’t have to have a lot to set a pretty spring table, just a few smart items we can use again and again! Getting together is far too important not to have a few good entertaining and hosting staples on hand and at the ready. And being prepared can move hosting from the “hectic burden” category to the “joy of giving” category.

What You Need To Create This Spring Table

Here are a few of my spring party go-tos. I used them in these photos as a little inspiration!

  • Strawberry Cream Cheese Sandwich Recipe
  • Outdoor Wooden Table & Chairs Bistro Set
  • Linen Ruffled Table Runner
  • White Boho Pillows
  • Pink Glass Cake Stand
  • Pink or Green Cabbage Plates
  • Pink Stemware
  • Nouveau Orchid Pink Dinner Napkins
  • French Blue Velvet Napkin Twillies
  • Ratan Basket

This simple spring tablescape in whites and pastels celebrates with layers, textures, a delicious seasonal recipe and a bit of deamy softness that’s versatile enough to carry us through multiple get togethers.

Everything on my list works perfectly for any of spring’s events! Mix and match the dishes and table linens with dishes or china you already own to create different looks. Layer your dishes, table cloths and runners for added interest and a fresh feel every time.

And of course, you have to serve delicious spring recipes like these Strawberry Cream Cheese Sandwiches or Benedictine Cucumber Tea Sandwiches. Wondering what else to serve?

For Kentucky Derby parties, bridal and baby showers and all kinds of brunches and luncheons, this menu is always a winner!

  • Strawberry Asparagus Salad
  • BLT Quiche
  • Ham Biscuit Sliders with Pineapple Pepper Jelly
  • Southern Pimento Cheese Ball
  • Louisiana Shrimp & Crab Deviled Eggs
  • Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie
  • Champagne Julep Punch

Along with your entertaining staples, keep hosting easy with simple centerpieces. You don’t need elaborate flower arrangements. Make the most of spring. Set up your table under a pretty tree. Use potted flowering plants and ferns on and around the tables.

They are in abundance at your local home and garden stores, nurseries, co-ops and grocery stores. And they are the perfect way to add lush beauty whether you’re hosting in the yard, on the patio, even inside!

At its heart, good hospitality is about making your guests feel wanted and welcomed. In the midst of all the bustle of getting together, don’t forget to let the family and friends you’ve invited to gather at your home know how glad you really are that they’ve come.

No matter what other touches we’ve included to make our guests feel special, spending time with them is the #1 hosting essential we can never leave out!

Here’s to making the most of every chance we get to make memories by getting together this season. Cheers!
