Thanksgiving is just 5 days away! Hopefully you have your menu planned, even if it needs a few touches here and there. Maybe even most of your groceries purchased? (If so, you are ahead of me!) But in all the prep and planning, don’t forget to think about your table and how you will serve all those delicious dishes you’ve so carefully chosen.
Do you have all of the serving utensils you need? It doesn’t hurt to lay them out, thinking about each and the dish it will go with. What about casserole dishes, salad bowls, 9×13 baking dishes? How will desserts be served? Go ahead and get those out. Pair them with their serving utensil. Make notes about what you’re doing with each. Yvonne at Stonegable takes this idea even one step further with her brilliant Thanksgiving tip I’ve included in this week’s Saturday Seven.
Besides Yvonne’s tip, I’ve also included some easy table ideas- place cards, ribbon napkin rings, fun table traditions, centerpieces gathered from the yard and so much more! Just a few easy things you can do to make this special holiday an even more treasured experience. These ideas are also opportunities to get more family members involved. Let someone be in charge of the table this year. Ask young people to do the place cards, napkin rings or centerpiece. You never know what talents and enthusiasm you might uncover just by including others!
