Easy burgers no matter the weather, along with simple oven-roasted Creole Turkey breast make this week’s meals delicious. The meal planning strategy of shared ingredients makes grocery shopping a breeze!

This Week’s Secret To Success
This week’s recipes work well together because they share ingredients! When meal planning choosing recipes that use a lot of the same ingredients makes grocery shop so much easier. There is no running all over the store with a long list of items to gather, making it easy to overlook an ingredient or leave the store without something you really needed.
Instead, choosing recipes that use many of the same ingredients keeps shopping trips short and focused. It can even make shopping less expensive because it allows you to buy bulk items and eliminates waste by creating opportunities to use all of what you buy instead of having to store a half-used bag of coconut or part of a red onion you end up throwing away later.
This Week:
- Buy a large box of elbow macaroni and use it all to make Pimento Mac & Cheese and Shrimp Pasta Salad.
- You’ll find red bell pepper in the pasta salad and in black eyed pea salad. Pick up some extra bell pepper and celery to use with your wasabi vegetable dip.
- You’ll use two red onions between the pasta salad, black eyed pea salad and the broiler burgers.
- And there is sure to be no wasted coconut between the coconut cookies, Coca Cola jello salad and hummingbird banana bread.
- The jello salad shares crushed pineapple with the hummingbird bread and pecans with the cookies.
You’ll find you can make a lot this week while not having to purchase a lot of different ingredients at the store. This is also a great strategy to use if someone is helping you with your shopping this week- like your husband or teenage kids!
Meal 1- Broiler Burgers & Pasta Salad
When you can’t grill outside, you can still have great, juicy hamburgers at home… if you know how to broil them in the oven! It’s as easy as turning on the oven and setting a timer. That’s it! And to make sure we bring the extra special in this simple recipe, these juicy Lucy Broiler Burgers are mixed with shredded cheese to create a full flavored Juicy Lucy style burger in every bite! Pair it with Shrimp Pasta Salad for a true cookout experience.
Menu 2- Creole Turkey Breast
Coated with simple creole seasoning & butter, then roasted with fresh herbs & touch of citrus, bone-in Creole Roasted Turkey Breasts are deliciously tender, juicy & full of savory flavor! Perfect for those times when turkey sounds delicious, but you don't need (or want) to cook a whole bird. Serve it with Pimento Mac & Cheese and Black Eyed Pea Salad for a really delicious 3 dish meal that isn't difficult.
Dessert This Week
Soft & chewy coconut cookies are loaded with shredded coconut, chopped pecans, a hint of cinnamon and tons of yum! These easy-to-bake golden beauties are going to be your family’s new cookie craving.

Making Breakfast Easy
What good southerner can resist anything named hummingbird? Moist and tender Hummingbird Banana Bread is loaded with sunny pineapples, ripe bananas, sweet coconut and buttery pecans. Just like the classic southern Hummingbird Cake, this dense quick bread will be your new favorite for a little taste of the tropics!

Here’s What We’re Snacking On
Wasabi Mayo Dip is that special appetizer you make when something ridiculously delicious, but just a little surprising, is what the occasion needs. Addictively creamy with a horseradish-like kick, it’s the perfect partner for crisp asparagus, baby potatoes, cherry tomatoes and other veggies. It’s 1-step kind of easy to make!
