I love holiday candles and scents! You’ll usually find some sort of candle burning at our home all throughout the holiday season. I just love the cozy atmosphere it creates! However, there are times when the candles are put away and simmer pots full of wonderful herbs, spices and fruits are put on the stove top. Nothing can compete with the gorgeously delicious aromas that fill the house when these all natural ingredients warm and simmer.
I love giving little gift bags full of ingredients for cozy simmer pots to friends and family too! They make thoughtful little hostess gifts that say “thank you for having us over,” as well as perfect party favors to send home with your special guests.
To make a holiday simmer pot gift, simply use the recipe card below and add ingredients to a clear treat bag. Tie with a bow, add a gift tag and you’re ready to give a little a bit of the holidays! To use the ingredients, simply empty them into a small crock pot or sauce pan on the stove top. Cover with water. Turn the heat on low and breathe deep as the spices warm and fill your home!
There’s nothing like the smells of the holiday to create a warm and welcoming home! And with a simmer pot, you can give beautiful gifts that will help friends and family deck the halls too.

Time to make some of this! It just makes my home say “Welcome” when I greet guests at the door. Or when I need energizing for quilting all hours of the day and night!! 🙂

Bobo, Love it! I feel the exact same way! I put it on before guests arrive, but I also love to simmer a little for me to enjoy when it’s just me! A simmer pot is such an easy way to add a little special.

When making as gifts ahead of time, do we need to refrigerate? Want to make as gifts for a Christmas shower ahead of time. Can we keep in bowl outside of refrigerator during shower as well to hand out as guests leave?
Stacey
Hi, Lisa! It depends on the ripeness of your fruit (mainly the cranberries) when you make up the gifts. If you are making them 1-2 days ahead of time and your fruit is firm, they should be fine without refrigeration. But there is also no harm in refrigerating them either. Definitely have them out in a nice bowl, basket or on a tray for your guests during the shower. Thank you for making these! I know your guests will love them! Note: The oranges go in the bags whole so that the rest of the ingredients don’t stick to them. Your guests will quarter them before using them. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for the help!

Will a clementine or small tangerine work for an orange?
Stacey
Hi, Lillian! They sure would! What a great question. Thanks for making this! Enjoy!
