Spiced Caramel Apple Cider in Your Crock Pot

Full of all the season’s flavors, this piping hot crock pot apple cider with its smooth caramel, bright oranges, warm spices and dollop of whipped cream is the perfect companion for quiet moments in your favorite chair, fireside with some s’mores or as a the perfect “warm up” after a hayride or ball game.

There is nothing better than cozying up in a big arm chair with a good book when the weather gets chilly.  …Except when you can wrap your hand around a toasty mug full of something of warm and delicious while you’re doing it! 

And that’s exactly what you’ll find yourself doing with this Spiced Caramel Apple Cider recipe.  As a matter of fact, you’ll yourself sipping this hot cider drink all fall and winter long, which makes it’s simple crock pot recipe all the more handy!

What You Need to Make Caramel Apple Cider in your Crock Pot

  • apple cider
  • caramel topping
  • half and half
  • ground cinnamon & cinnamon sticks
  • whole cloves
  • vanilla
  • orange
  • whipped topping (optional)

This recipe is so simple since it starts with ready-made ingredients and just builds from there.  Apple cider, cream (half & half) and caramel topping are stirred together in the crock pot to make a the delicious base.  Then it’s time to layer on the rich flavors.  Vanilla, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves and orange slices are added before the crock pot is turned on to bring all the flavors to together.

Get ready for the whole house to smell wonderfully warm and inviting as this spiced apple caramel cider bubbles and simmers it’s way to perfection.  You’ll know when it’s ready to serve because it will be steaming hot and the cider, caramel and cream will be perfectly blended.

Ingredients

  • 64 oz apple cider
  • 12 oz caramel topping
  • 8 oz half & half
  • 3 sticks cinnamon
  • 2 slices orange
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • ¼ teaspoon whole cloves

Garnish

  • whipped topping
  • ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • In 4-6 qt crock pot, add cider and caramel, stirring until well blended.  Slowly stir in cream until all liquids come together.  Add rest of ingredients.
  • Turn crock pot on medium to high.  Let cook for 1 hour.  Stirring occasionally.
  • Serve when hot and cream is blended with cider.  
  • Garnish with whipped topping and ground cinnamon before serving or let guests garnish their own.

Notes

Cloves, cinnamon sticks or oranges can be removed before serving.  I leave mine in and just serve around them for a more rustic, cozy service.
