Do you have your coffee cup? I do!
What a Monday! What a weekend! I hope your Easter weekend was full of remembrance, worship and those whom you love the most.
But as it goes with life in the South, we can’t rest long because the next thing to celebrate is just around the corner. I’m talking about the Kentucky Derby. Yes, the Derby. Hats and eats and seersucker and everything that’s downright fabulous.
To help out a little, this week I’ve got inspiration for hosting your own Derby Party. The race those thoroughbreds do might only last two minutes, but the hats and parties last all day. Make the most of this year’s derby Saturday by hosting your own fun event full of laughs, spiffy duds and, most of all, good eats.
To deliver those good eats, this week’s feature recipe is the traditional Kentucky Hot Brown. Get a free printable recipe card and a little history about what this wonderfully delicious open-face sandwich is all about.
And last but not least, this week’s encouragement is all about righteousness. Thank goodness my righteousness has absolutely nothing to do with me. What a hopeless situation that would be! Don’t get fooled into thinking performance, or being good, has anything to do with being righteous.
