This is ASD’s first video recipe! I hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed making it. Wow, what a process! We have learned so much and can’t wait to do another.
Sparkling Lavender Lemonade
Ingredients
- 3C sugar
- 3C water
- 6-8 lemons, juiced to yield 1 ½ C lemon juice
- 3-4 lemons sliced
- 1 qt. blueberries
- 32 oz. sparkling water
- 2 drops of lavender essential oil
Garnish for Two
- 1 lemon
- mint
- toothpicks
Process
Make simple syrup by mixing the sugar and water in a medium sauce pan. Cook on medium heat until sugar is dissolved and the water just starts to boil around the edges. Set aside to cool.
Cut 6-8 lemons in half and juice.
Pour lemon juice and simple syrup into a pretty pitcher. Add the sliced lemons and a handful of blueberries. Fill the pitcher with sparkling water. Add 2 drops of lavender essential oil, 2-3 mint leaves, and stir well.
To garnish, slice two slices from the mid-section of the lemon. Thread a lemon slice, 2 blueberries, and mint leaves onto a toothpick. Set aside.
Use the rest of a lemon to squeeze the rest of its juice onto a bread plate.
Pour a little sugar onto a second bread plate.
Dip the rims of your glasses, first, into the lemon juice, then into the sugar.
Muddle a few blueberries in the bottom of your sugared glasses to naturally create the color you would expect of a lavender lemonade. Besides, the berries compliment the lemon lavender combination and make a color pop addition to the garnish!
Add ice to your glasses. Fill with lemonade. Top with your fabulous garnish.
This lemonade is so refreshing and relaxing! It’s a fantastic way to create one of those unexpected special moments with a drink that everyone loves. Enjoy!
