Encouragement, Inspiration and Recipes from Southern DiscourseDo you have your coffee cup?  I do!

We’ve been meeting like this for a little more than 2 months now!  It has been a great way to slow down for just a minute and take a break from all the hectic rush that Monday mornings tend to bring.  I know I couldn’t start my week without it.  I hope you feel the same way too.

These past couple of weeks, however, have seen tragedy in our country, and goodness knows our hearts grieve over the senselessness of it all.  As we continue to prepare for Thanksgiving, may you find a bit of comfort and encouragement in this week’s posts chosen especially for this time.

MONDAY COFFEE BREAK: ENCOURAGEMENT, INSPIRATION & RECIPES

Encouragement- The Balm of GileadIs There No Balm in Gilead?  Come along with me as I ask God how to deal with the heaviness of heart over recent events in our country, how to find direction and how to love others through all of it.  The answer He gave me is one that works for every grief, every hurt, every situation.  It’s the only balm we need.

Inspiration- Adding new foods to your holiday mealsThere are those times when you come across a GREAT recipe, and you just know that it will be a hit on the Thanksgiving or Christmas table, but your family…  well, not so much.  They want their favorites and nothing else!  Find out how to add new dishes to your traditional holiday fare with  3 Tips for Successfully Adding New Foods to Your Holiday Meal.  It’s easier than you think, and everyone will love it!

Recipes- Salted Caramel CakeWho doesn’t love a traditional southern Caramel Cake?  Let me tell you though, it is a bear to make and there are few who can do it!  Southern Salted Caramel Cake is a “new southern” twist on the touted caramel cake that anyone can make!  With a salted caramel buttercream icing and caramel praline filling, this cake is even baked up from a boxed cake mix (with add-ins that make it taste like homemade, of course)!  If a caramel cake is what you’ve been craving, but you haven’t been sure that you can take it on, then this is the recipe for you!

That’s it for this week’s Monday Coffee Break. Thanks for stopping by and having a cup with me as we slowed down for just a minute and started our week off right!
