If you are a coffee lover, you know it is the fuel that makes the world go ’round. And if you are a coffee creamer lover, you look forward to that lovely cup of get up and go when it’s dressed up with a little something extra. And that’s ok. Because sometimes we need a little extra. An extra minute or two, an extra spritz of hair spray or just a little something to make the day feel right.

2 glass mugs of Cherry Mocha.

This simple, homemade Cherry Mocha Coffee Creamer has just that right amount of extra. Inspired by chocolate covered cherries and a recent trip to Starbucks, this easy creamer is all you need to turn your average cup of coffee into an indulgent treat right at home!

What You Need to Make Cherry Mocha Coffee Creamer

  • half & half
  • dark chocolate dessert sauce
  • liquid from a jar of maraschino cherries
  • vanilla
Mixing up the Cherry Mocha coffee creamer.

At my house, we drink coffee all day long. We like it hot, iced and almost any way in between. That’s why I make my own coffee creamers to add to my coffee now and then. They are easy and quick to make and offer more bang for the buck than their store bought/ coffee house specialty counterparts.

This recipe is just a matter of mixing together a little half & half, chocolate sauce, vanilla and the syrup from a jar of cherries. It yields almost 4 liquid cups of creamer. That’s quite a bit… which is perfect if you have a house full of coffee drinkers like I do or are planning a little coffee get-together.

When you really need a little extra (or maybe a special dessert without the hassle), sitr in a little Cherry Mocha Creamer and top your cuppa joe with a little whipped topping, chocolate sauce and a cherry. Wow! Now, you’re talking my kind of extra!

Hi, This recipe looks great but I have a couple of questions. You mention coffee several times…is any coffee involved at all…or is this a kind of sundae with no coffee? Thanks

Darn…still confused…do I add this to a chilled or hot coffee. ..or is “coffee creamer ” a drink on its own. Sorry for bothering you again. Nite

No bother at all! Different people from different places drink coffee (and tea) differently.

Coffee creamer or coffee cream is a flavored half cream mixture added to hot or iced coffee to create a coffee drink.

This Cherry Mocha Creamer is made to add to your cup of coffee (hot or cold) to create a dessert coffee drink or special treat.

Love this recipe but I like a little sweeter creamer. Do you suggest adding more chocolate sauce or cherry juice?

Hi, Barbara! I am thrilled you like this recipe! Homemade coffee creamers are so fun! To make it sweeter, I would definitely recommend more of the liquid from the cherries. You might even try putting a couple of teaspoons of sugar into the cherry juice and stirring to dissolve before adding it to the recipe! Let me know how it goes!
