A computer-based method is just what it sounds like. A child learns completely or mostly through online courses, DVD or CD based curriculum. The child works on his own through self-paced lessons. Often times, programs will assessments, scoring, and record keeping. There is little to no parent planning or involvement, but parents should be available to help and guide.
Computer-based methods work well for families who are not concerned with limiting use of technology or screen time and for whom being minimally involved in the process is part of their goal.
Googling “computer based homeschool curriculum” renders plenty of options.
